Prairie County Country Christmas

Join us in Prairie County for an event filled December!

Beginning on Tuesdays, each week will hold a fun and festive activity for all community members and visitors alike to enjoy.

The season will kick off with the annual light parade, taking place on December 3rd at 6 pm.
Anyone is able to participate, the more the merrier! If you are participating, please line up at Kelley Bean at 5:30.

Also on December 3rd will be the Stockman Bank’s annual photos with Santa, hot dogs and hot chocolate.

Week 2 will include holiday potpourri at the Legion at 2 pm on Tuesday December 10th, followed by our new event – Scavenger Hunt through the Businesses. From 5-7pm you will be able to browse through the businesses, looking for a ticket. Find one for a chance to win a prize!

The 3rd week brings back a community favorite. Our spin on the progressive meal, traveling treats! Participating businesses will choose their very own treat to serve to patrons. From hot chocolate, to cookies, to lots of other holiday themed goodies, you’re certain to find lots of yummy things! Travel around from 5-7 pm.

To round out the holiday season, the 11th Annual Live Nativity will commence on Friday December 20th at 6 pm. Join us downtown between the Museum and Cameron Gallery to watch a live version of the nativity scene. The Chamber has sponsored a chili feed at the Legion immediately following.

As if those events aren’t incentive enough to make the trek through town, the Chamber and Chamber businesses have graciously assembled a large gift basket to give away to a lucky business goer. To enter, simply spend Chamber bucks in a participating Chamber business between December 3rd and December 20th. The winner will be announced at the Live Nativity on December 20th.

We would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season, and encourage you to check out our wonderful Prairie County Businesses!

A Prairie County Christmas 2023

Line up for the parade will be at 5:30 at Kelly Bean Co, and the parade will begin at 6:00pm. The 2023 Light Parade Theme will be Legends of Christmas. Along with the light parade will be Stockman Bank’s hot dogs, hot chocolate and Santa pictures. Beginning at 5 pm, enter through the bank’s north door to get your picture with Santa! Don’t forget to swing around the east side and warm up with hot dogs and hot chocolate.
Thank you to Stockman Bank for always participating in the festivities!

On December 21st, the annual live nativity production is set to begin at 6pm. More info will follow at a closer date, but for now please direct questions to Tamara Choat.
